Boasting some of the world’s most splendid harbours, Sydney is definitely one heck of a stunner, what with its high octane lifestyle, buff bodies and world-class food and high fashion. But there definitely is always something more. Discover it with us and head off down a path that takes you around Sydney like never before!
Hipster’s and Hops
If you are mad for Ale then this tour is for you! You would need a sturdy set of shoes too though as you get into the inner west via Surry Hills. And it is an all day 7 hour tour! It includes lunch at one of Marrickville’s premier Gastro Pubs, The Henson Hotel. It covers Young henry’s Batch brewing, The Royal Albert, Rocks Brewing and more. Or you could compile your own tour too!
Food, art and drinks! Couldn’t be more perfect eh? It’s all about checking out “creative” Sydney! Culture Scouts take you on tours showing you the best Sydney has to offer in art, food, wine and beer. And if street art tickles your fancy – even better! Of course you will get a taste of the some of the most amazing eateries and watering holes too! It can be a lovly personalized experience where you enjoy street art and its stories, craft beer, hidden galleries and top notch coffee! Get into Sydney straight up!
NOT Bondi Beach!
Yes who doesn’t love Bondi? But for a different take on the beach life in Sydney there is Cronulla, which is about 40 minutes from Sydney CBD. Of course you could take the train, but a car would be a whole lot more convenient especially to drive around and visit the headland of Kurnell and the Botony Bay National Park. Bars, restaurants and
the sound of the waves crashing await.
It’s all Good on The Goods Line
Its amazing how wasted urban spaces can inspire people. The Goods Line redevelopment promises much the same. It promises to be just as good and maybe even more useful as it will also serve as a thoroughfare to travel across to Darling Harbour through Ultimo. It already has a lovely feel to it and cafes are springing up along the route. It starts at one of Sydney’s hottest restaurant precincts, Chippendale and winds past eye popping building scenery at the
University of Technology and on to Darling harbour. This is a great walk you must see.
Make a splash!
So here’s an idea. Instead of driving up winding roads to the Blue Mountains, take a cruise on the Nepean River and into the spectacular Nepean Gorge and the Blue Mountains National Park. And what makes this uber scenic route even more fun is the fact that you’d be taking a ride in the Nepean Belle Paddle Wheeler Boat whilst enjoying a lovely Devonshire tea, lunch or dinner. It’s oh-so-perfect old world style – you actually feel you’re on a movie set!
Imagine a seasonal meal with some of Australia’s finest products and top-grade wines with picturesque views of the beach and if you’re lucky maybe even a glimpse or more of those majestic whales! And then it gets better!
Have your self chauffered, in style, to and from mind you, in a Rolls Royce Drophead or Phantom, a Mercedes S Class or a BMW 7 Series to Jonah’s Ultimate Dining Experience perched atop a hill overlooking Whale Beach! What makes it even more ultimate is that you could even fly in a wee seaplane to this iconic restaurant! Of course you
can’t forget the copious amounts of awesome food wine and views too!
All Hands on Deck
Here’s an uber VIP experience! A one-of- a kind harbor cruise on a grand motor yacht – The Hiilani (used to be owned by Shirley Temple)! You could stop off in Rose Bay if you fancy a special VIP dining experience at Catalina, or in Double Bay for a VIP access to Pelicano or you could just stay on board with impeccable catering and service. Everything is customizable! You get what you want. And of course, if you like that sort of thing, you’ll be one amongst the glam ilk of Adrien Brody, Stephen Dorff, Nina Dobrev and Bruno Mars, to have cruised the Sydney shores in the Hiilani!
If you need a super duper adrenaline high we have just the experience for you. You can enjoy super speed and even somersault, all while flying and getting a view of Sydney from above! Yup! You read it right! While flying! And not just any old craft; it will be a proper Jet Fighter – a Cessna A-37B ex-military twin-engine jet fighter! With three different ‘missions’ to choose from, this experience is completely customizable too – be realistic though folks. And maybe don’t eat a huge meal before you go eh?
Kitschy-cool and Greek!
We all love a good meal. And when you can eat it in a basement restaurant, tucked down a wee staircase, behind an innocuous front door, it just adds to all the excitement, doesn’t it? Well, the Diethnes Greek Restaurant, buried underneath Fortuna House on Pitt Street is even more delightful with its hefty dose of folklore! Who goes there? Well, it is known as a favoured haunt for legal brass and even certain elements of, ahem, the criminal underworld! It’s classic and old school and so very kitsch! Whoppa!
Of Flying Food and Private Dining
A night out at a good teppanyaki place is always fun. But at the Rocks Teppenyaki, that is actually hidden inside a historic 1880s heritage building, you won’t just find flying eggs and rice bowls a-plenty, but also numerous private rooms and dining spaces with world-class chefs adding to all the fun! So of course you don’t have the ordinary menu here! Sure there’s something for the ‘strugglers’ but I would suggest you get that 10-course belter, and watch out for that flying wagyu!
The next you are in Sydney, mention Spice Temple and watch eyes light up! “Hidden” behind a nifty door on Bligh Street, and down a spiral staircase, is Neil Perry’s Asian emporium of sexy snacking! And within its myriad seating sections you will usually spot a celebrity or two while you tackle a full-blown chilli challenge like the ‘numbing chicken’ or fried five-spice squid crunchy packed with Sichuan peppers! Of course you’ll have a curated, pulsating soundtrack and ravishing staff to keep you company while you have the most fun one could with clothes on!
With only 31 rooms the uber-cool Establishment Hotel used to be a warehouse and is located in the heart of Sydney’s buzzing business district! Now, however, it is an exceptionally stylish destination in itself with an earthy-chic vibe AND luxe Bvlgari bathroom amenities!
A Bit O’ Spanish Life in Oz
Do you ever feel like you were in another country, while you were in a totally different one? For instance, in Spain while you are actually in Sydney? It does happen y’know. Well, if you find yourself suddenly craving for some tapas and vino, a la España, head over to Tapavino. It’s quite close to what you may find in the alleyways of Spain and it
began as Australia’s first sherry bar. Now it serves up delicious tapas with its enviable collection of over 300 Spanish wines! Olé I say!
